The Ozarks Technical Community College Richwood Valley Campus in Christian County will be closed during the week of July 13-17 due to damage to electrical equipment. Richwood Valley instructors are working with students to conduct classes on Blackboard, an online learning management system, and OTC employees who work at Richwood Valley will report to the Springfield campus for work beginning July 13. Depending on when parts arrive and the work is completed, the earliest the Richwood Valley campus could reopen is Monday, July 20.
On Thursday, July 9, a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 14 crashed and damaged electrical equipment that supplies power to the Richwood Valley campus. The damage was severe enough to require parts be expedited from California, and new concrete has to be poured.
Events scheduled for the Richwood Valley campus next Friday, July 17, (STEAM Days and RegFest) will either be rescheduled or relocated. That information will be released when a decision is made.
