The Center for Workforce Development at Ozarks Technical Community College is offering new coding boot camps in partnership with Promineo Tech. The online, 18-week programs are designed to take the adult learner, with varying levels of software development experience, and train them to fill the nearly 500,000 open computing jobs nationwide.

Graduates of the programs are eager problem solvers who will be well prepared to fill entry-level positions in a variety of roles such as Java Developer, Software Engineer and App Developer. According to Course Report, 83% of graduates surveyed say they’ve been employed in a job requiring the technical skills learned in a boot camp program.

OTC’s Center for Workforce Development notes that the registration fee includes one test voucher to take the W3 Schools SQL Certification exam. Passing the W3 Schools SQL certification exam proves the student’s commitment to upgrade their skills and provides credibility within the IT industry for receiving more responsibility, larger projects and a higher salary.

The digital demand in our world is on the rise as we adjust to the new normal. Social distancing norms and lockdowns have forced businesses to shift to remote operations, which has generated a high demand for qualified workers in tech. New students have the opportunity to enroll in Front End or Back End Development Programs to focus on a full-length and specialized program, rather than a Full Stack option. This allows the student to spend more time mastering their selected track and to become a strong candidate for roles in development.

“The rapid economic shift last year has created tremendous demand among those who want to re-skill,” said Nick Suwyn, founder of Promineo Tech. “Bringing these boot camp programs to Missouri is a great opportunity to enhance the workforce acceleration within the state, specifically in the increasingly in-demand field of technology. We’re excited to work with OTC-CWD to accomplish this.”

The Back and Front-End Software Developer programs are open to the public and are currently accepting enrollment for new students in the April and May cohorts. The cost of the boot camp is $3,695.
