Dear New OTC Student:

Welcome to Ozarks Technical Community College! College is such an exciting new adventure that you are starting. Our motto here at OTC is “You have a dream. We have a plan.” So, whatever your dreams are coming into college, just know that we have a plan and the support systems to help you achieve your dreams!

Being a graduate of OTC, I can tell you that this college will always share a special place in my heart. This was where I met amazing friends and colleagues. This was where I became a first-generation college student. OTC is where I made my own dreams, and I know this is an amazing place where you can dream out loud too. I know that you can benefit by learning about all of the support systems that we have in place for students just like you. So, please take advantage of all the resources that OTC offers!

I have been a student ambassador for over three years and I have learned many things about the different resources that we offer to students. Many can be accessed by all students at every OTC location! Our web page otc.edu can get you in touch with many resources and an abundance of information about our school, locations, staff, students, etc. One thing that I learned as a student is to never be afraid to ask a question.

While at OTC, I chose to pursue a career in middle school education with an emphasis on social studies. OTC really set me up for success with my general education courses and pre-requisites for my education coursework.

I eventually moved on to Missouri State University after graduating from OTC, which is another resource that I would like to tell you about. At OTC, we have transfer representatives for both Missouri State University and Drury University. Visiting our transfer representative for MSU really made my transfer process smooth and seamless. I would highly recommend visiting our transfer representatives if you plan on moving toward the four-year track for your education.

You’ll see me around campus for a few more days before I end my chapter with OTC and begin my new story of becoming an 8th-grade social studies teacher. Our OTC Springfield student ambassador team is on campus Monday-Friday, so please feel free to say hello or stop by Student Services.
