Ozarks Technical Community College in continuingly working to offer students the best college experience we can.
Just how well we are delivering that is gauged by the feedback we get in our student satisfaction surveys. The results of the spring semester survey show students are pretty happy overall with the College, the faculty, the courses and the College itself.
There were 1,678 students who completed the survey and the students ranked a half-dozen areas in which they were very satisfied with what OTC offered.
•The quality of instruction. (96 percent surveyed were very satisfied)
• The college’s computer help desk (96 percent)
• Your satisfaction with your decision to attend OTC (96 percent)
• Condition of the facility and grounds (96 percent)
• Willingness of faculty/staff to assist students (95 percent)
“I believe all of our deans and our faculty recognize that our priority is to provide students the best possible learning experiences. Everything keys around delivery of instructional activities that will promote student learning and it is this effort that is rewarded by students recognizing that the quality of instruction is extremely high,” said Randy Humphrey, vice president of academic affairs.
There were some areas and issues raised by students in the survey that the college needs to address including parking, the bookstore and getting more computers in the labs. School officials are taking a close look at all of those issues along with getting more student services in place at the college’s education centers.
John Clayton, OTC’s director of research and strategic planning, said the college has continued to receive high marks in the listed areas in previous semesters.
“The fact that 96 percent of the students responding indicated satisfaction with the quality of instruction speaks very highly of the institution,” he said.
