The Ozarks Tech Springfield campus is now an approved site for Educational Testing Services (ETS), making the institution the only college in the area to provide the certification exams required for graduate students, as well as future teachers, paraprofessionals and health care providers.

After completing the rigorous certification process, Testing Services at the Ozarks Tech Springfield Campus obtained approval this month to administer the exams for these much-needed professions. This milestone makes Ozarks Tech the only Springfield testing option and one of the few statewide sites.

Having ETS available at Ozarks Tech is significant for:

  • Future teachers: Missouri now uses the PRAXIS exam instead of the MoGEA to certify teachers and paraprofessionals. Local high school students in teacher education tracks now have a convenient in-person option for testing.
  • Nursing applicants: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam is available for students who need to demonstrate English language proficiency for enrollment but can’t use the online version.
  • For graduate school applicants: The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is now offered at Ozarks Tech, providing an affordable and reliable option for those pursuing advanced degrees.

“Being certified to provide these exams is one more way Ozarks Tech is helping to fulfill the professional and academic aspirations of our community and students,” said Jade Saeger, Ozarks Tech Testing Services coordinator. “It will enhance educational opportunities, strengthen partnerships and support professional growth.”
