New short-term course helps local facilities reduce downtime and contractor costs
In response to increasing demand for skilled maintenance professionals in southwest Missouri, Ozarks Technical Community College is launching an innovative, short-term plumbing course designed to help local businesses strengthen their existing workforce.
The Plumbing for Maintenance Technicians course, offered June 23–27 at Ozark Tech’s Springfield campus, empowers those already working in apartment complexes, schools, hospitals and commercial facilities to perform a wider variety of plumbing repairs in-house. It strengthens local expertise and empowers businesses to operate at their highest potential.
Led by experienced plumbing professional and Ozarks Tech plumbing instructor, Greg Davis, this five-day course builds on participants’ existing knowledge and covers real-world plumbing techniques they can apply immediately on the job.
“This training is a smart investment for facilities teams,” said Greg Davis, Ozarks Tech plumbing instructor, “especially in today’s market where contractors are in high demand with a limited labor pool to pull from. When your staff can fix common plumbing issues, everyone benefits.” Tuition is $1,350 for in-district students but grant funding may cover most or all of the cost for qualified participants, making this professional development opportunity affordable for employers looking to upskill their teams.
