The OTC Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Ozarks Technical Community College, has received a lead gift from Jerry and Linda Jared. Mr. Jared is the President of Jared Enterprises, former owner of Cody’s Convenience Stores, and member of the OTC Foundation Board. The Jareds have given the money in support of the Center for Workforce Development Initiative, a part of the OTC Foundation’s major gifts Capital Campaign.
“The Jareds’ gift demonstrates their support of the workforce and the businesses of southwest Missouri, and an understanding of what Ozarks Technical Community College has to offer,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College. “We are grateful for their generosity and their involvement with this initiative.”
“The Center for Workforce Development plays a vital role in the community, offering both specific training for area businesses and short-term programs to get people ready for the workforce quickly,” explained Mr. Jared. “I am pleased to have an opportunity to support this important part of OTC.”
“The involvement of area business leaders, like the Jared family, is vital to the Foundation and to the College. We greatly appreciate their support,” added Cliff Davis, Executive Director of the OTC Foundation and Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
The OTC Foundation works to coordinate regional resources into a broad-based financial support network for the College and its students. Currently engaged in its first-ever major gifts Capital Campaign, the Foundation continues to grow, raising money toward student scholarships, program development, and other improvements for the College.
