The Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) honored OTC employees, alumni, donors and legislators at its 56th annual convention held in Branson Nov. 10-12.

At the convention, MCCA acknowledged these donors, alumni and legislators for their commitment to OTC’s mission:

  • Robert W. Plaster Foundation – Award of Distinction
  • Elijah Haahr, former state representative – Distinguished Alumni Award
  • Lincoln Hough, state senator – Show-Me Leadership Award
  • John Black, state representative – Distinguished Legislator Award

The following OTC faculty were honored for their commitment to students and the teaching profession:

  • Charlotte Choate, associate of science in nursing coordinator – Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Rob Flatness, dept. chair construction technology – Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Rene Wade, drafting design and technology instructor – Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Rebecca Caceres, dental programs instructor – Global Educator Award
  • Michael Ferguson, psychology instructor – Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award
  • Jon Herbert, theater instructor – Mel Aytes Faculty Innovation Award

OTC administrators and staff earning recognition for their excellent service to the college include:

  • Abby Benz, chief strategy officer – Administrative Professional Award
  • Becky Noel, accounting clerk – Senior Service Award
  • Amber Moran, SkillUP grant manager and Jacque Harris, instructional designer – Technology Innovation Award
  • Ann White, administrative assistant – Classified Staff Achievement Award

The Missouri Community College Association is a statewide organization through which Missouri’s community colleges work together to advance common agendas.  MCCA brings the state’s 12 colleges together for advocacy, professional development, information and collaboration.
