Ozarks Technical Community College will offer two no-cost, short-term training courses at its Springfield campus in the summer of 2023. Students can choose from an information technology boot camp or an entry-level computer numerical control (CNC) machine class.
The Information Technology Boot Camp prepares students to complete the A+ Certification exam. The A+ Core 1 certification is the preferred performance-based qualifying credential for technical support and information technology positions.
- The class begins on May 31 and runs through Aug. 9.
- The 10-week course meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30–11 a.m.
- Classes are held in the Robert W. Plaster Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
- Students earn five credit hours.
- There is no cost to students thanks to a Missouri Scholarship and Loan Foundation grant.
The Fundamentals of CNC Operation course teaches students the essential skills and knowledge necessary for an entry-level position in the machining industry.
- The course runs for two weeks: June 6–8 and June 13–15.
- The class meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5–8:15 p.m.
- Classes are held in the Robert W. Plaster Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
- Students earn one credit hour.
- There is no cost to students thanks to scholarships from the Gene Haas Foundation.
