Ozarks Tech hosted its annual Health Sciences Open House event on Dec. 6. More than 700 area high school juniors and seniors took advantage of this come-and-go event held in Lincoln Hall.
Students learned about the multiple opportunities in health sciences and the 32 different pathways that Ozarks Tech offers in health care. During the event, students also participated in hands-on activities that provided insights into specific professions. Attendees further benefited from talking one-on-one to faculty and current students to gain firsthand information about individual programs that fit their area of interest.
The Health Sciences Open House is the one time each year that all Ozarks Tech’s health science programs come to one location and provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the health care options offered at the college’s six different campuses and centers.
“This is such beneficial event because it gives prospective students a one-stop look at all the college offers in health care,” said Dr. Aaron Light, dean of Ozarks Tech Health Sciences. “We want students to know that the education offered here will equip them to be proficient in their fields. Our programs meet the highest standard of education across all areas of the medical profession. We help students attain certification or licensure for their careers, and most of our graduates find employment right after graduation.”
Ozarks Tech is nationally recognized in health education. The division is home to 13 accredited programs that prepare students for a variety of health care support roles. Ozarks Tech Health Sciences has state-of-the-art training resources including a 3,000 square-foot simulation center featuring an emergency room, intensive care unit and a birthing suite.
