Spring semester’s here, so what do you need to do to stay on top of your OTC game? Bookmark this blog! Utilizing these reliable resources and tech tips could turn your so-so semester into a triumphant term.

  1. Sync your OTC email to your phone.

I know, who cares about email, amiright? I mean, nobody! — except for the people who help you book your classes and let you know if there are any problems, the people who disperse your financial aid, and all your instructors ever. It’s the easiest way for you to keep up with important campus news and to communicate with people at OTC. Follow these step-by-step instructions to sync your OTC email to your iPhone or Android.

  1. Sign up for emergency text alerts.

Emergencies happen! Ice storms! Snow! There could be a chance to stay home in your pajamas and do absolutely nothing! Texts cover everything from class cancellations and campus closings to severe weather alerts and security incidents. You can sign up to receive emergency text messages at otc.edu/text.

  1. Get Canvas support when you need it.

Everybody needs some Canvas help sometimes. Bring your Canvas-related questions and e-text access issues to IC 104 for one-on-one help. You can also email online@otc.edu for support.

  1. Take advantage of OTC’s free tutoring services.

If you have ever thought, “Maybe I need somebody to look at this before I turn it in…” We have you covered! Our free tutoring services include the Speckman Tutoring and Learning Center, the Carol Jones Writing Center, the Speech and Communication Center, and Online Tutoring. So, whether you could use a little assistance with math, a speech, writing or science, we have tutors ready to help. Learn more about our tutoring options at each of OTC’s campuses and centers here.

  1. Visit the PC Repair Clinic.

Let me tell you — if things ever go virtual again, having a working laptop really helps. Visit the PC Repair Clinic at the OTC Springfield Campus, Graff Hall, room 105. The clinic can help with all sorts of computer problems, including broken or cracked LCD screens, viruses, slow performance, data backup and recovery, and more. For more information, call 447-8113 or email pcrepairclinic@otc.edu.

  1. Download Office 365 for free.

Who doesn’t like free stuff — especially free stuff which is actually really helpful? As an OTC student, you literally have free access to Office 365. Click here to download your copy.

  1. Bookmark calendar.otc.edu.

If you like free cocoa, free Pineapple Whip, and a heads-up about all the fun activities an Eagle can handle… then bookmark OTC’s events calendar! It covers everything from back-to-school Eagle Days events, fall and spring picnics, student showcases, OTC Fine Arts performances, and more. Here’s the link: calendar.otc.edu/events.
