Welcome back, Eagles! We hope your fall semester is off to a great start. Are you planning to stay organized and in the know this year? We’ve compiled five of our best hacks guaranteed to keep you informed and on top of your game as a college student.
1. Sync your OTC email to your phone.
It’s the easiest way for you to keep up with important campus news and communicate with your instructors. Follow these step-by-step instructions to sync your OTC email to your iPhone or Android.
2. Sign up for emergency text alerts.
Emergency text alerts are the quickest way to receive information when urgent situations happen on campus. Texts cover everything from class cancellations and campus closings to severe weather alerts and security incidents. You can sign up to receive emergency text messages at otc.edu/text.
3. Bookmark calendar.otc.edu.
Tired of hearing about fun events…after they’ve happened? Bookmark the OTC calendar so you never miss out again. The calendar covers everything from back-to-school-bash events, fall and spring picnics, student showcases, OTC Fine Arts performances and more. Here’s the link: calendar.otc.edu/events.
4. Take advantage of OTC’s free tutoring services.
Our free tutoring services include the Speckman Tutoring and Learning Center, the Carol Jones Writing Center, the Speech and Communication Center and Online Tutoring. So whether you need to work on your math, your speech, your writing or your science skills, we have tutors ready to help. You can learn more about our tutoring options at each of OTC’s campuses and centers here.
5. Visit the PC Repair Clinic.
If your laptop is giving you trouble, visit the PC Repair Clinic at the OTC Springfield Campus, Plaster Manufacturing Center, room 227. The clinic can help with all sorts of computer problems including broken or cracked LCD screens, viruses, slow performance, data backup and recovery, and more.
