SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Join Ozarks Tech to celebrate the start of construction on the college’s new Center for Workforce and Student Success.

The community is invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for this exciting addition to the Springfield campus at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 26. The event, scheduled for the south parking lot in front of the Norman K. Myers Building, will include an official groundbreaking by members of the Ozarks Tech board of trustees, special guest speakers, and a naming announcement.

“We want to share this milestone with the community and provide an opportunity for everyone to celebrate what this building means for students and the future of the college and our region,” said Ozarks Tech Chancellor Dr. Hal Higdon.

Specifically designed to help equip students for academic and career success, the three-story, 100,000-square-foot Center for Workforce and Student Success will include a dedicated space for academic support services, space to host career fairs with local employers, and facilities to provide special training opportunities. The building will also include a central gathering area as well as a new bookstore, food court and multi-purpose room to allow for a variety of fitness and wellness activities. In addition, the project will include a student plaza that will offer covered outdoor seating for dining and studying, food trucks, recreational activities and areas for both academic and personal development.

DeWitt & Associates has been named the official construction partner for the Center for Workforce and Student Success. The building is set to formally open in fall 2026.
