Dr. Megan Weaver will serve as OTC’s Dean of Academic Services beginning July 1. The OTC Board of Trustees approved Weaver’s promotion at its monthly board meeting in June. She assumes the role previously occupied by Dr. Vivian Elder, who now oversees the college’s Bioclinical Sciences Department.
As dean, Weaver will lead the college’s Academic Services Department, which provides academic support — tutoring, testing, and library and disability support services — to the OTC community.
“I look forward to collaborating with our outstanding faculty and staff as we promote and enhance student learning,” Weaver said. “Academic services are an integral part of the college’s mission, and I’m ready to get started in this new role.”
For the last three years, Weaver has served as Director of Academic Services at the OTC Richwood Valley Campus. In that role, she led the campus’ disability support services, academic tutoring, testing, and library services. She has an extensive background in higher education administration, including as serving as assistant dean of instruction at Colorado Mountain College, as well as dean of master’s programs and president of Forest Institute.
Weaver holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Drury, a master’s in psychology from Missouri State, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Saint Louis University.
