Ozarks Tech is proud to offer new short-term training courses designed to help individuals looking to advance in the plumbing industry.
The college is currently registering for Plumbing Codes 1, a course designed for both new and experienced industry professionals who want to strengthen their knowledge of the plumbing codes published by the International Code Council.
The four-week course focuses on the essential industry topic of plumbing codes, including information on how they are adopted and implemented by those in the profession. It also covers licensing preparation and related math.
The Plumbing Codes 1 course begins in February. Classes meet weekly for 1 1/2 hours with evening classes starting Feb. 11 and daytime classes starting Feb. 19. Tuition assistance may be available for qualified participants to complete this course at little to no cost.
“Short-term plumbing training allows students to enhance their skills without committing to a full program,” said Dr. Matt Hudson, executive dean of career, technical and community development. “This is helping address a specific need in our workforce and providing vital information to those individuals who are wanting to skill up.”
To meet area workforce needs, Ozarks Tech debuted its plumbing program in 2024. The program was created in conjunction with local plumbing experts and it is designed so a student can receive training while working. Plumbing classrooms and labs are located on the southeast corner of the Industry Transportation and Technology Center (ITTC) on the Ozarks Tech Springfield Campus.
