General Guidelines
These guidelines are designed to help you effectively manage social media accounts associated with Ozarks Technical Community College. Our goal is to share valuable information, engage with our community, and uphold Ozarks Tech’s values and mission.
Official Ozarks Tech Social Media Platforms
We are represented on the following platforms:
Security and Consistency
- Enable two-factor authentication on all personal accounts managing Ozarks Tech-related social media, especially on Facebook and Instagram.
- If you manage a social media account for your unit, maintain consistent posting. If the account becomes inactive, consider removing it to protect the college’s security and reputation.
- In line with college policy 3.48, web@otc.edu has to be added with admin rights to any new Facebook page related to Ozarks Tech.
- Consider using an icon template to ensure your page meets the brand standards
Maintain Mission and Focus
- Before posting, consider the relevance of your content to Ozarks Tech.
- Ensure your post will increase interest and engagement from your audience (students, alumni, donors, parents, taxpayers, etc.).
- Aim for helpful, entertaining, and interesting content and promotes our mission of providing accessible, affordable, quality education.
Remember Your Audience
- Social media is public. Posts are accessible to many audiences, including prospective students, current students, donors, trustees, colleagues, and peers.
- Consider the potential impact of your post on all these groups. If there’s a chance of negative consequences, reconsider posting.
Tag Ozarks Tech in Your Posts
When posting about Ozarks Tech, tag the official pages to increase visibility and reach a wider audience.
Engage with Other Accounts
- Actively engage with Ozarks Tech-related content by liking, commenting, and sharing. This helps build community and promote Ozarks Tech’s presence on social media. Consider engaging with other colleges and universities.
- Reshare content from main Ozarks Tech accounts.
Post Relevant and Interesting Content
Share valuable information that resonates with Ozarks Tech’s target audiences. Content should be informative, engaging, and shareable.
Strive for Accuracy
- Ensure that all facts are correct before posting. Content should be free of grammatical and spelling errors.
- Represent Ozarks Tech accurately; all statements should be truthful and accurate.
