Ozarks Tech will honor former and current members of the military with a special Veterans Day event to feature the Sons of the American Revolution, performances, guest speaker, and recognition and awards.
The Ozarks Tech Veterans Day Ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11 in the Jared Family Atrium of the Information Commons Building.
The ceremony will include:
- Welcome from Ozarks Tech Chancellor Dr. Hal Higdon.
- Presentation of Colors by Howard Fisk, Ozarks Tech board of trustees, along with members of the Sons of the American Revolution.
- Pledge of Allegiance led by Barbara Cash, Ozarks Tech student and Army veteran, and Tony Evans, Ozarks Tech student and Marine Corps veteran.
- The Star-Spangled Banner performed by Christian Ard, Ozarks Tech Choir member.
- Guest speaker: Vietnam War veteran and Bronze Star recipient Bob Huff.
- Presentation of the Outstanding OTC Veteran Award to Ozarks Tech student and Air Force veteran John Larson.
- Taps performed by Ozarks Tech music instructor Philip Forrester.
- Retirement of the colors by the Sons of the American Revolution.
Ozarks Tech is proud to recognize and thank our military service members and has held a Veterans Day Ceremony event on its main campus for nearly 20 years. Currently the college has more than 700 students who are military veterans.
