The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) honored Ozarks Technical Community College Provost Dr. Tracy McGrady with its Distinguished College Administrator Award. Dr. McGrady received the award during PTK Catalyst 2023, held April 20-22 in Columbus, Ohio. Catalyst is the society’s annual convention.
Dr. McGrady is one of just 30 college administrators nationwide to receive the accolade. The award recognizes college administrators working directly with student leaders to solve campus and community problems. They have taken an active interest in supporting high-achieving students and developing student leaders.
“These college administrators are beloved on campus—they know students by name and by circumstance,” said Phi Theta Kappa President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner. “This award is special because it comes directly from the students, and it is evidence of the gratitude they feel for the support for them and students like them.”
Dr. McGrady has served as Provost since 2017. She joined OTC in 2001 as a communication instructor after beginning her career in education at Missouri State University. During her tenure at OTC, she has also served as director of grants development, assistant to the vice chancellor for advancement, student affairs, and workforce development, and the dean of academic and student affairs at the OTC Richwood Valley campus.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing students’ academic achievement at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them grow as scholars and leaders.
