EMT Crash Simulation

To meet the demand for Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Ozarks Technical Community College and CoxHealth are partnering to offer the community EMT apprenticeships. Students receive the instruction and training free of charge, get paid an hourly wage as CoxHealth employees during the apprenticeship, and those who satisfactorily complete the program are guaranteed employment.

There is no cost to the students and they will be paid to complete the course and training.

During training, students will be paid $13.25 an hour. Wages increase to $16.67 an hour once the student gains their EMT licensure. In exchange for the paid tuition, training, and licensure exams, the students commit to working for CoxHealth for 2,917 hours or approximately 18 months.

Students accepted into the program will complete the following:

  • OTC Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course
  • 320 hours of on-the-job instruction/training with CoxHealth
  • Certification and Licensure exams

To be eligible, students must be a high school graduate, at least 18-years-old, and pass a background check.

The summer EMT apprenticeship program runs from June 1-August 8. Another section will be offered in the fall. Visit this link to apply. For more information, email: HR-Recruitment@coxhealth.com.
