Ozarks Technical Community College Instructor Daniel Kopsas has received the 2013 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award, which was presented yesterday by the Missouri Community College Association at a ceremony in Jefferson City, is given to the top community college teachers in the state each year. The Excellence in Teaching award includes a proclamation from Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.



Kopsas, who teaches mathematics at OTC, was honored in 2012 as one of the recipients of the college’s Excellence in Education Awards. The Excellence in Education Awards, created in 1992 and funded by the Turner Family Foundation, are designed to recognize quality individuals throughout the institution. OTC has conferred 94 Excellence in Education Awards since the program began in 1992.
