Ozarks Technical Community College is accepting enrollment for its free Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) classes held at several locations across southwest Missouri.

The classes provide individualized learning programs for adults who want to prepare for the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam, learn English as a second language or improve their reading, math and writing skills. To be considered for the AEL program, participants must be at least 17 years old and not enrolled in high school. For additional information about OTC’s AEL Program, call 417-447-8860.

AEL classes are offered at the following OTC locations:

OTC Springfield Campus
The Springfield campus offers AEL classes in Graff Hall, room 221, which is located at 725 E. Bob Barker Blvd. Classes are held Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. To enroll, visit Graff Hall room 121 on Mondays at 12:45 p.m. or Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m.

OTC Richwood Valley Campus
AEL classes are held in room 126 at the Richwood Valley campus, which is located at 3369 W. Jackson St. on Highway 14 between Ozark and Nixa. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. To enroll, visit room 126 at the Richwood Valley campus on the first and third Monday of the month at 8:45 a.m. or 5:30 p.m.

OTC Table Rock Campus
AEL classes are held in room 107 of the Table Rock campus, which is located at 10698 Historic Highway 165 in Hollister, Missouri. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. To enroll, visit room 107 on the first and third Monday of each month at 9 a.m. or the first Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m.

OTC Lebanon Center
AEL classes are held in room 127 of the Lebanon center, which is located at 22360 Highway MM in Lebanon. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. as well as Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. To enroll, visit room 127 at the Lebanon center on the first and third Monday of the month at 9 a.m. or the first Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Established in 1991, OTC’s Adult Education and Literacy program serves more than 900 students on an annual basis. The program’s mission is to provide specialized instruction for students who wish to build or refresh the basic academic skills necessary for success in work and life.
