The Grainger Foundation has donated $27,500 to the OTC Foundation, the fundraising arm of Ozarks Technical Community College, in support of OTC’s Middle College program. “This grant will be used to provide a computer lab for the Middle College, which will greatly enhance the learning experience for the students enrolled in that program,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.” The Middle College program was created to help underachieving students to complete their high school education while earning free college credit. The program, which is the first of its kind in Missouri, now serves more than 100 students from four school districts in southwest Missouri. This donation was recommended by Michael Riley, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s Springfield location. Grainger has been a part of the Springfield business community for more than 35 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by Ozarks Technical Community College,” said Riley. “We understand the need for opportunities like the Middle College in Springfield and its surrounding areas.” The Grainger Foundation is an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Ill., and was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger, founder of W.W. Grainger, Inc. For further information about The Grainger Foundation, contact Communications Manager Kristen Lawrence at kristen.lawrence@grainger.com. The OTC Foundation, now in its 17th year of operation, works to meet the ever-increasing needs of Ozarks Technical Community College through the funding of scholarships, new programs, and capital improvement projects.
