Paul Sundy, local entrepreneur and Ozarks Technical Community College graduate, will present the commencement address at the College’s annual ceremony, to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, at JQH Arena on the Missouri State University campus.  In addition to all graduates and their families, the public is invited to attend the ceremony.

“We are looking forward to hearing Mr. Sundy address our graduates at commencement this year,” says Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College.  “His story and his successes serve as an excellent example of what our graduates can accomplish in the future.”

A 2001 graduate of OTC and a key player in the revitalization of downtown Springfield, Sundy is the owner/operator of a number of Springfield’s most popular restaurants and lounges, including Big Whiskey’s American Bar and Grill, Parlor Eighty Eight, Fedora Social House, the Whole Hog Café, and Einstein Bros. Bagels.  Sundy has also opened a Big Whiskey’s in Little Rock, Ark., and plans to open more restaurants under the Big Whiskey’s and Parlor Eighty Eight brands.

In addition to taking a hands-on role in all of his businesses, Sundy is actively involved in the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and regularly involves each of his brands in various community charity events.
