With spring classes beginning today, enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College has increased once again. The total enrollment across the College’s six locations has increased by 7.0 percent from the spring of 2011.
“Even as enrollment continues to increase year after year, our state financial support continues to erode,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “The state funding situation must be addressed, because we cannot continue to provide the programs, services and facilities our students need under the current state funding situation.”
The breakout of enrollment among Ozarks Technical Community College’s six locations is as follows:
Campus/Education Center | Students | Percent Growth |
OTC Springfield Campus | 9,465 | 5.3 percent |
OTC Richwood Valley Campus | 1,145 | 4.5 percent |
OTC Lebanon Center | 633 | 17.4 percent |
OTC Branson Center | 457 | 11.7 percent |
OTC Waynesville Center | 374 | 23.4 percent |
OTC Online | 2,075 | 10.0 percent |
Total | 14,149 | 7.0 percent |
However, a total of 4,151 students are taking at least one online class. The College has offered online classes for several years, but demand has increased exponentially since OTC made it possible for students to earn a complete Associates degree online.
