Ozarks Technical Community College and WGU Missouri signed an articulation agreement today that allows OTC graduates and staff to smoothly transfer to WGU Missouri and receive discounted tuition at the nonprofit, online university.

“This is an exciting collaboration that will help OTC graduates finish their bachelor’s degree,” said OTC Provost Steven Bishop. “Our institutions share a focus on student success and we know that WGU Missouri offers a student-centered experience that helps even the busiest adults continue their education.”

The articulation agreement allows seamless transfer of credits and offers OTC graduates who are admitted to WGU Missouri a 5 percent tuition discount. In addition, for the first year of the agreement, WGU Missouri will waive the $65 application fee. The agreement between the two institutions also allows for credits from OTC to smoothly transfer to WGU Missouri.

“WGU Missouri is delighted to partner with Ozarks Technical Community College,” said Angie Besendorfer, chancellor of WGU Missouri. “We know that Missouri adults are looking for flexible and affordable ways to achieve a respected bachelor’s degree, and we’re excited to provide that opportunity to more OTC graduates.”

WGU Missouri was established in 2013 by Gov. Jay Nixon, in partnership with national Western Governors University (WGU), as the state’s only fully online, competency-based university. WGU Missouri allows adult students to take advantage of prior learning and experience to move quickly through material they already know so they can focus on what they still need to learn. WGU’s flat-rate tuition of about $3,000 per six-month term has remained unchanged for seven years.
