OTC’s Center for Workforce Development (CWD) will host an open house for its new Allied Health classroom and laboratory on Friday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will begin at the OTC Springfield Campus in Lincoln Hall, room 211. Prospective students, community partners and the general public are invited to attend.
The new Allied Health classroom and laboratory will be utilized by four CWD certificate programs: Medical Assistant, Hemodialysis Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and Pharmacy Technician. The new facility features a mock patient-examination room, pharmacy lab, phlebotomy lab and hemodialysis machine.
“We look forward to sharing our new classroom and state-of-the-art laboratory with the greater-Springfield community,” said Leigh Williams, CWD Allied Health program director. “The new facility will allow us to provide our students with the latest tools and technology needed to succeed in these high-demand healthcare fields.”
The next round of courses for CWD Allied Health certificate programs will begin this fall. College representatives will be available at the open house to give guided tours, discuss specific program requirements, and help prospective students enroll.
