Loving Diversity Week is a celebration of OTC’s diverse college community. It’s an opportunity to have meaningful conversations about our human identities, experiences and interactions with one another.

Microaggressions

Are you aware of the little things you say or do that may be offensive to someone from another race, religion, socioeconomic background or gender? We’ll look at common phrases and sayings and discuss why they may be hurtful to others.

Engaging Men

Share ideas about how to involve men in conversations about sexual and relationship violence. Plus, discuss ideas about healthy masculinity.

Theatre of the Oppressed
Thursday, Feb. 14

Watch and engage with OTC theater students as they present mini skits displaying microaggressions. The skits are designed to challenge society’s views on what is and isn’t acceptable behavior.

Interracial Issues
Friday, Feb. 15

Have meaningful conversations about the particular issues faced by interracial couples and develop strategies for creating healthier relationships.
