Ozarks Technical Community College will host a retirement reception to honor Jacqueline “Jackie” McKinsey, a founding member of the Ozarks Technical Community College Board of Trustees on Saturday, Oct. 11. The reception will be held from 3-5 p.m. in the Jared Family Atrium of the OTC Springfield Campus. A short program to thank and honor Mrs. McKinsey will begin at 3:30 p.m.
McKinsey was elected to the OTC Board of Trustees in 1990 and retired in July 2014. She has served as secretary, treasurer, vice chair and chair of the six-member board. Additionally, McKinsey chaired the presidential search committee when Dr. Hal Higdon was hired in 2006. McKinsey has been active in the Missouri education community having served on the Springfield School Board, the Missouri School Board and, in 1996, she was appointed by Gov. Mel Carnahan to the Missouri Women’s Council.
“Mrs. McKinsey has fearlessly led OTC since its inception in 1990,” said Greg DeLong, chair of the OTC Board of Trustees. “Her role as a founding trustee has helped the college achieve significant and truly remarkable milestones. We are grateful to Mrs. McKinsey for her leadership and dedication to the college.”
“Mrs. McKinsey’s retirement reception is the community’s opportunity to thank Mrs. McKinsey for her years of service,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “Her legacy will continue to inspire the OTC family and we wish her all the best in retirement.”
