Ozarks Technical Community College honored Neal Spencer, former national growth partner and CEO of BKD, LLP, with the naming of the Neal Spencer Student Lounge in a ceremony today, Friday, Jan. 23. The event was held in the newly renovated lounge, located on the second floor of the OTC Springfield Campus in the Information Commons West building.
“We are grateful to Mr. Spencer for his advocacy and long-standing support,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “His efforts and generosity have proven vital to the continued success of our college and community.”
Mr. Spencer, a strong advocate for OTC workforce training, has served on the OTC Foundation Board since 2009. His support and fundraising efforts focus particularly on OTC’s Middle College program, which is a contemporary, academic pathway for students who struggle within the limitations of traditional high school.
“OTC gives these kids educational opportunities in an economical way. It’s a stepping stone to a four-year college or successful career,” said Spencer. “These opportunities not only enrich their future, but the future of our community and economy.”
