The OTC Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Ozarks Technical Community College, received a lead gift from Carol Jones.  Ms. Jones, Founder of Carol Jones Realtors, and the recipient of the 2009 OTC Excellence in Business award, has given the money in support of the OTC Foundation’s Student Scholarship Initiative.  The gift will create a scholarship specifically designated for females recovering from domestic or family violence and/or with financial need.

“Ms. Jones has consistently demonstrated her commitment to taking care of the women in our community, and helping to fund their education is another excellent way to do so,” said Cliff Davis, executive director of the OTC Foundation and the College’s vice president for Institutional Advancement.

“We are grateful to Ms. Jones for her generosity and her support of our students,” Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College, added.  “This scholarship will surely have a profound affect on the lives of the women who receive it.”

This gift positions the OTC Foundation within $610,000 of meeting the $2.5 million goal of its Student Scholarship Initiative, a part of its ongoing Imagine. Invest. Inspire. Major Gifts Capital Campaign.  Other initiatives in the Campaign include: Center for Workforce Development, $3 million; Center for Health Education, $2 million; and Student Support Programs, $2 million.
