The Roy W. Slusher Foundation has presented the OTC Foundation, the fundraising arm of Ozarks Technical Community College, with a gift of $21,000 to be used for student scholarships.

“We are thankful for the generosity of the Slusher Foundation,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “Giving toward scholarships is one of the most direct ways that an organization can impact the education and the future of OTC students.”

The scholarships funded by this gift are available to any full-time OTC student who meets the academic requirements, but special consideration will be given to applicants who live in Taney County.

“The Slusher Foundation has long supported OTC, and we appreciate the organization’s continued investment in our students,” said Cliff Davis, vice chancellor and executive director of the OTC Foundation. “These funds will help countless students continue their education, and continue improving their lives.”

The Roy W. Slusher Foundation was established in 1988, one year after the passing of Mr. Slusher. Since its inception, the Slusher Foundation has distributed nearly $5 million, primarily to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations in Taney and Stone Counties. Funds are allotted to a variety of areas that were important to Mr. Slusher and his late wife, Nora, including educational scholarships and medical research. The Slusher Foundation has supported the OTC Foundation since 1999.

The OTC Foundation, now in its 17th year of operation, works to meet the ever-increasing needs of Ozarks Technical Community College through the funding of scholarships, new programs, and capital improvement projects.
