The OTC Foundation, the fundraising arm of Ozarks Technical Community College, has received a gift of $21,000 from Tony Stubblefield, vice president and managing partner of Reliable Superstore, to be used for scholarships for students in the College’s Automotive programs.

“We are grateful for the generosity of Tony Stubblefield and Reliable Superstore, and for their investment in our students,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “These scholarships will make it possible for more Automotive students to complete their training and go to work, which will in turn benefit the entire community.”

The gift will be used to establish two endowed scholarships with $10,000 each: the Reliable Toyota Lexus Scion Automotive Scholarship, for students in the Automotive Technology or Auto Collision Repair Technology programs, and the Reliable BMW/Audi Springfield Automotive Scholarship, for students in the Automotive Technology, Auto Collision Repair Technology, or Diesel Technology programs.  The remaining $1,000 will be used to provide two $500 scholarships in the fall 2012 semester.

“When area industry leaders support our students and our programs, it gives those students confidence that employers like what they are getting from OTC,” added Cliff Davis, vice chancellor for Advancement | Workforce Development and executive director of the OTC Foundation. “The support of Tony Stubblefield and Reliable Superstore is greatly appreciated.”

Reliable Superstore is a multi-franchise auto complex located on more than 20 acres at the corner of Sunshine Street & Highway 65 in Springfield, Mo., featuring sales & service for Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Audi and Scion.  In addition to new franchise vehicles, Reliable Superstore also includes a used car dealership, as well as factory certified pre-owned vehicles.  Other services include Toyota Rent-A-Car, Toyota Certified Collision repair, factory trained technicians and a comprehensive parts warehouse.  The dealership is entering its 21st year in business with annual sales in excess of $120,000,000 and more than 150 employees.

The OTC Foundation, now in its 14th year of operation, works to meet the ever-increasing needs of Ozarks Technical Community College through the funding of scholarships, new programs, and capital improvement projects.
