Ozarks Technical Community College and University of Maryland University College have finalized a new transfer agreement between OTC Online and UMUC.  A signing ceremony was held this morning at Ozarks Technical Community College’s Springfield campus.

The agreement is designed to provide for a seamless transfer for qualified Ozarks Technical Community College students into UMUC.  Students in both the OTC Online programs and traditional seated classes may be eligible for the transfer.

“UMUC is an international leader in online instruction, and we are pleased to have this new opportunity for our students,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College.  “Though it is certain that a wide variety of students will take advantage of this agreement, it will be particularly beneficial to our students who are in the military.”

OTC Online enrollment is up more than 15 percent this fall, with 2,327 students taking the majority of their classes online.  However, a total of 4,104 students are taking at least one online class.  The College has offered online classes for several years, but demand has increased exponentially since OTC made it possible for students to earn a complete Associates degree online.
