The first-ever class of graduates from the Associate of Science in Nursing program at Ozarks Technical Community College has earned a 100% success rate on the Missouri state Registered Nurse licensing examination.  Every one of the 24 graduates in the program’s inaugural class has passed the exam and is now eligible for employment as a Registered Nurse.

“Having 24 new, fully trained and licensed Registered Nurses in the area is excellent news for both the citizens and the economy of our region,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, president of the College. “We are very proud of our students for the hard work they put in during their time at the College, and for their incredible success on the state licensing exam.”

The ASN program at Ozarks Technical Community College is designed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN) program that permits the qualifying LPN to complete the RN nursing courses in 36 weeks.  Graduates are eligible to apply to take the exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse.  The program’s first class graduated in May of 2009.
