With fall classes beginning today, enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College has increased once again. A total of 15,212 students are enrolled this semester, 8.8 percent more than the fall of 2010.
“Our student population continues to grow because we continue to offer what the citizens of southwest Missouri need,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “With the opening of our new facility in Lebanon and our new classrooms in Springfield, we are working hard to provide the classes and study spaces our students need to succeed.”
The breakout of enrollment among Ozarks Technical Community College’s six locations is as follows:
Campus/Education Center | Students | Percent Growth |
OTC Springfield Campus | 10,281 | 6.2 percent |
OTC Richwood Valley Campus | 1,293 | 7.3 percent |
OTC Lebanon Center | 658 | 7.6 percent |
OTC Branson Center | 502 | 8.8 percent |
OTC Waynesville Center | 410 | 20.9 percent |
OTC Online | 2,068 | 15.9 percent |
Total | 15,212 | 8.8 percent |
However, a total of 4,709 students are taking at least one online class. The College has offered online classes for several years, but demand has increased exponentially since OTC made it possible for students to earn a complete Associates degree online.
