In the summer of 2016, there will be several construction projects on and around the Ozarks Technical Community College Springfield Campus. All of these improvements will impact parking and traffic flow on the OTC Springfield Campus.

OTC will resurface a parking lot, City Utilities is moving a water line, the City of Springfield is relocating Central Avenue to connect to Pythian Street, and the Information Commons and Norman K. Myers buildings are getting new air conditioning units.

All construction is designed to begin during intercession when classes are not in session and during the summer when fewer students are on campus. All of the construction is scheduled to be completed on or before the start of classes on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016.

The following parking lots will close on May 16:

  • A-Lot, on the southeast corner of Central Street and N. Sherman Avenue, will close for re-surfacing. That lot will be closed for approximately six weeks.
  • E-Lot, on the northeast corner of Central Street and N. Sherman Avenue, will close permanently to accommodate the City of Springfield’s relocation of Central Avenue project that will create an east-west corridor to the north of the OTC Springfield campus.
  • F-Lot, at the southwest corner of Central Street and N. Hampton Avenue, will close for approximately three weeks to install new air conditioning units on the roof of the Information Commons building. The air conditioning units, each one the size of a school bus, will need to be staged in the parking lot and the area will also accommodate a crane to lift the old units off of the roof and to install the new units.

The following parking lot will close on May 23:

  • D-Lot, at the northwest corner of Central Street and N. Sherman Ave., will close for City Utilities to complete work on water line relocation. D-Lot will be closed for approximately three weeks.

We appreciate your patience as OTC works with its public partners to improve traffic flow near campus and makes these much-needed improvements to campus.
