The Communication department held a Public Speaking Showcase on Thursday, May 7 in Lincoln Hall on the OTC Springfield Campus. Public speaking instructors from the Springfield and Richwood Valley campuses nominated outstanding COM 105 students to participate in the showcase. The nominated students presented a persuasion speech for a panel of judges.
Public Speaking Showcase judges included Jason Howard, adjunct communication instructor; Janet Sell, dental assisting program coordinator/adjunct communication instructor; and Dr. Shawn Wahl, Missouri State University department chair of communication.
Additionally, Nathan Cassady, COM 105 lead instructor, and Roderick Smith, OTC student and future communication major, shared the role of Master of Ceremonies.
