With spring classes beginning today, enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College has increased once again.  A total of 13,220 students are enrolled this semester, 16.1 percent more than the spring of 2010.

“An ever-increasing number of southwest Missouri residents are pursuing the training opportunities at OTC as they work to enhance their careers and their lives,” explained Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College.  “With this year’s planned expansions for our Springfield and Waynesville locations, as well as the move to our new facility in Lebanon, we are working hard to provide the space and resources that our growing student population demands.”

The breakout of enrollment among Ozarks Technical Community College’s six locations is as follows:

Campus/Education Center Students Percent Growth
Springfield Campus 8,986 10.8 percent
Richwood Valley Campus 1,096 20.6 percent
Lebanon Education Center 539 30.2 percent
Branson Education Center 409 15.5 percent
Waynesville Education Center 303 73.1 percent
OTC Online 1,887 34.2 percent
                                Total 13,220 16.1 percent

However, a total of 4,571 students are taking at least one online class.  The College has offered online classes for several years, but demand has increased exponentially since OTC made it possible for students to earn a complete Associates degree online.
