Dr. Hal Higdon, president of Ozarks Technical Community College, has taken the position of Chair of the Presidents/Chancellors Council of the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA).  The Council serves MCCA and its membership by representing community college interests in the state legislature and professional and governmental agencies, and by maintaining communication between the colleges.

Dr. Hal Higdon has been president of Ozarks Technical Community College since July of 2006.  He came to the College after 13 years with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.  Dr. Higdon holds a degree in business from the University of Alabama and a Master’s and Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Dr. Marcia Pfeiffer, president of St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, just completed a term as Chair of the Presidents/Chancellors Council.

The Missouri Community College Association is a professional education association designed to encourage the professional and academic development of the students, faculty, staff and trustees of the state’s 12 community college systems, with 19 total campuses.  MCCA member colleges serve approximately 200,000 students each year.
