This month, the Ozarks Technical Community College Fine Arts department will take “center stage” in Park Central Square. From 6-10 p.m. during First Friday Art Walk on Friday, April 5, OTC will provide live music and entertainment in the center of downtown Springfield. Plus, the OTC Fine Arts department’s students and faculty will promote the upcoming “Clue: The Musical” by engaging Art Walk-goers in a live interactive game of murder mystery intrigue! The game will begin at 7 p.m. on the square. Participants will visit six participating locations to solve the mystery: the Park Central Library Branch, the Gillioz Theater, the OTC Fine Art Gallery, Migulito’s Wrap and Roll Cafe, the Squid Foo Art Gallery, and the Obelisk Home and Revel Advertising Gallery. Join the fun and see if you can solve who did it, with what weapon, and in what local establishment. Was it Colonel Mustard in the Gillioz with the rope, or did you spot Miss Scarlet at Migulito’s with a candlestick? Located on the third floor of the Gillioz Theater complex, this month’s artwork inside the OTC Fine Art Gallery will come from the Central Ozarks Conference Annual Juried High School Art Exhibition. For the last four years, the gallery has proudly hosted this annual juried exhibition, promoting some of our local and regional high schools’ young new artists. This year, the exhibition’s awards ceremony will take place during the gallery’s Art Walk reception, which will be held in the gallery on Friday, April 5, from 6-10 p.m. In addition to the art on display at the OTC Fine Art Gallery, students from the college’s Art Portfolio Development class will present their own feature exhibition at Migulito’s Wrap and Roll Cafe, located just off the square on Park Central West. The exhibition, titled “identity,” will feature the work of seven OTC students, and will be on display through April 26. The OTC Fine Art Gallery’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
