Three Ozarks Technical Community College students from the turf and landscape program received awards in the 2014 Professional Landcare Network Student Career Days national competition.



Isaac Lawson of Norwood and Kyle Knierim of Lockwood placed second in landscape maintenance operations. Knierim and Lawson also received string trimmers valued at $300 as part of their award.



Lawson and Cletus Ingram of Goodson placed second in wood construction. Lawson also received a $2,700 scholarship through the PLANET Academic Excellence foundation. It was the second-largest scholarship amount awarded nationally.



Knierim and Ingram received honorable mentions at the competition. Knierim placed 22nd in compact track loader operation and Ingram placed 24th in compact excavator operation.



A total of 64 colleges took part in the competition with a total of 743 students competing.
