Ozarks Technical Community College received more than $1 million as part of a $19.7 million grant awarded to Missouri’s community colleges and the State Technical College of Missouri. OTC’s grant funds, awarded today through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant Program, will serve 108 students. These students will have the opportunity to earn an A.A.S. in Chemical Laboratory Technology or affiliated certificate at OTC. The college was part of a consortium that chose to focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) jobs because of an identified need for employment and growth in the local STEM community.
“We are grateful to the U.S. Department of Labor for helping OTC further develop its high-demand STEM programs,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “Enhancing these programs will provide more career opportunities for our graduates in this growing sector.”
This is the fourth TAACCCT grant awarded to OTC since 2011.
