The official federal census numbers are in for the spring 2011 semester, and the Ozarks Technical Community College system has grown once again. A total of 13,617 students enrolled this fall, up 9.9 percent from the spring of 2010.
“Our student population continues to grow, which means that more citizens of southwest Missouri are getting the training they need to move forward in their jobs, or to start a new career,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, president of the College. “It is more clear than it has ever been that the programs offered at OTC are needed in our community.”
The breakout of enrollment among Ozarks Technical Community College’s six locations is as follows:
Campus/Education Center | Students | Percentage Growth |
Springfield Campus | 9,256 | 4.4 percent |
Richwood Valley Campus | 1,141 | 20.4 percent |
Lebanon Education Center | 546 | 26.7 percent |
Branson Education Center | 429 | 12.3 percent |
Waynesville Education Center | 307 | 51.2 percent |
OTC Online | 1,938 | 24.1 percent |
Total | 13,617 | 9.9 percent |
However, a total of 4,490 students are taking at least one online class. The College offers a wide variety of online courses, or students can earn one of five degrees entirely through the OTC Online program.
