Students planning to attend Ozarks Technical Community College are urged to have their financial aid application completed and all required documents sent to the College’s financial aid office by July 15.

Necessary documents include the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is used to determine federal grant and loan funding a student is eligible to receive.

Meeting the deadline assures students their application will be processed on time to receive funding to pay tuition and fees for the 2013 fall semester

If students miss the July 15 priority deadline, they can still apply for and receive aid. However, it could affect their ability to meet payment deadlines for their desired class schedule and could result in not getting the classes they intended to take.

“With financial aid eligibility information, students are able to make informed registration decisions,” said Joan Barrett, associate vice chancellor for student affairs. “Students are able to register for the appropriate number of classes knowing how much aid is available to them.”

Approximately 71 percent of OTC students qualify for financial aid and more than 54 percent of recent graduates worked at least 20 hours a week while attending OTC.
