Ozarks Technical Community College unveiled its 2018 Excellence in Education award recipients at the college’s annual convocation, held at the White River Conference Center in October. Candidates were nominated by staff members and selected by a college-wide committee. Each winner was presented with a plaque and monetary award, made possible by a donation from the Turner Family Foundation.
Melissa Wittmer and Ginger Zaagsma received the Excellence in Education Full Time Instructor award. Melissa teaches math at the OTC Springfield Campus and online. She has worked at OTC for 10 years. Ginger, a science instructor and lab coordinator at the OTC Table Rock Campus, has worked at OTC for 15 years.
Pam Spain won the Excellence in Education Adjunct Instructor award. Pam teaches business administration at the OTC Richwood Valley Campus. She has worked at OTC for nine years.
Raymond Wade received the Excellence in Education Administrative award. Raymond has worked at OTC for six years as the assistant director of facilities and grounds.
Jill Colony won the Excellence in Education Professional Support Staff award as the secretary to the dean of technical education. She has worked at OTC for 11 years.
“Since 1992, OTC has recognized outstanding individuals throughout the institution with Excellence in Education awards,” said Dr. Hal Higdon, chancellor of Ozarks Technical Community College. “Congratulations to this year’s award recipients. We appreciate their dedication to our students and the college.”
