The 3rd Annual OTC Foundation Golf Tournament, held recently at the Hickory Hills Country Club, brought 88 area players together for a common goal:  supporting the students of Ozarks Technical Community College.  The 22 teams of four, along with event sponsors, raised a total of $17,543 dollars, which will be used for student scholarships.

“More than 60 percent of our students qualify for some form of financial aid, and providing scholarships through the OTC Foundation is more vital than ever,” explained Cliff Davis, executive director of the OTC Foundation and vice president for Institutional Advancement.  “Financial aid is often the deciding factor in whether or not a student can attend college at all.  The money raised by this tournament will help so many of those students to continue their education, enhance their job skills, and improve their lives.”

The money raised from this year’s tournament will help the OTC Foundation to meet its $2.5 million Student Scholarship initiative, a part of its ongoing Imagine. Invest. Inspire. Major Gifts Capital Campaign.  Other initiatives in the Campaign include: Center for Workforce Development, $3 million; Center for Health Education, $2 million; and Student Support Programs, $2 million.

The OTC Foundation works to coordinate regional resources into a broad-based financial support network for the College and its students.  Established in 1995, the Foundation continues to grow, raising money toward student scholarships, program development, and other improvements for the College.
